Bid invitations often link to documents rather than attaching them, and those links frequently sit behind a login: a private SharePoint site, a restricted Google Drive folder, a OneDrive share. Without a way in, BuildVision reaches the sign-in page and stops. Saving a credential gives it a way in.

How it works

When BuildVision processes one of your emails and finds a protected link, it checks your saved credentials for one that matches the site. If it finds one, it signs in and pulls the document. You never download and re-upload anything. If no credential matches, the link is left alone and the files behind it don’t make it into the project.

Add a credential

Open Email Settings

Select your avatar at the bottom of the sidebar, then Email Settings. Scroll to Saved Credentials.

Select + Add Credential.

Pick the service

On the Provider tab, choose the service from the grid. Microsoft, Outlook, SharePoint, OneDrive, and Google are all there.If the site you need isn’t listed, switch to the Custom tab and enter its domain instead.

Fill in the details

  • Name is a label for you, so you can tell credentials apart later. Something like work-sharepoint works well.
  • Username/Email and Password are the sign-in you’d use yourself.
  • Authenticator secret (TOTP) is optional. Fill it in when the site asks for a code from an authenticator app, and BuildVision generates the code when it signs in.

Create

Select Create. BuildVision uses the credential automatically the next time a matching link shows up.

Keep them current

A saved credential stops working when the underlying password changes, and the symptom is quiet: documents behind that site stop arriving, while everything else keeps working. If files from one contractor’s portal have gone missing, check that credential first. Credentials are saved against your own account, so each person on your team adds the ones they use.
